Summary of the JSCC Summer Workshop
The Jodo Shinshu Correspondence Course (JSCC) Summer Workshop is a special two-day program held annually on a weekend in July or August. It is offered as an optional program to the students of the JSCC and is a wonderful time for them to get together to share their experiences and meet with the Instructors for a more meaningful understanding of their Jodo Shinshu studies. Held at the Jodo Shinshu Center in Berkeley, California, students attend informative lectures, participate in lively discussions and join a variety of activities such as Service in the beautiful Kodo (Dharma Hall). It is an exciting opportunity to meet some of the course instructors and fellow students from the present and past enrollment groups. Every year a special guest professor in the field of Buddhist studies is invited to give a lecture and an attending special guest instructor of the JSCC also delivers an inspirational talk to the students. A hands-on activity, an outing or special recreational event may be included. For further information, please find the summaries of past August Workshops listed below.
“The Summer Workshop is available to JSCC students/alumni only. However, the special lecture segment is free and open to the public.”
